FINA has the pleasure to welcome all the participating teams to the 8th FINA World Women’s Junior Water Polo Championships to take place in Khanty-Mansyisk (RUS) from August 9-15, 2009.

      With the performances of our best junior teams, this occasion will be another important moment for the promotion of the FINA image worldwide. Water Polo is certainly part of FINA’s strategy to enhance the international development of our aquatic disciplines and soon after the conclusion of the 13th FINA World Championships in Rome (ITA), water polo will again be in the news.

      Russia is used to receive the FINA Family, by creating a friendly atmosphere for our competitions and by providing optimal conditions for athletes, spectators and media representatives.

      FINA would like to express its gratitude to the Water Polo Federation of Russia, the Organising Committee and the local authorities for their hard work and commitment. We are sure that in Khanty-Mansyisk our best junior players will keep an excellent memory of this competition.
