In the final day of the championship the friendly match between the judges’ team and Ugra team took place. Initially the teams played on a small field – the big one was occupied by the training Italian and Canadian national teams. As there were no gates, they considered hitting the benches to be the goal. The first day of the Junior Women’s Water Polo World Championship-2009 in Khanty-Mansiysk has come to an end. In group «À» there was one match, where the National team of Canada won the German team rather easily. However the National team of Mexico, which was in this group by lot, gave up the competitions, so all three group «À» teams still carry on fighting at play-off stage. The present Junior Women’s Water Polo World Championship, which takes place in Khanty-Mansiysk, is the eighth in succession. The gold medal winners of the previous seven tournaments were the national teams of Australia, the USA (both teams – two times), Canada, Greece and the Netherlands.
